New murals in Switzerland

I recently designed a series of four murals for the CONECO construction management firm in Zürich, Switzerland. The brief for this commission was for me to depict the four most prolific buildings in the firm’s portfolio to enhance its office interior.

Another key objective of the project was to promote the corporate identity of CONECO via the iconic illustrations representing the buildings it has realised to date. From large-scale urban buildings, to residential dwellings and interior outfitting, the firm manages the full spectrum of construction projects.

The feature mural is positioned at the entrance to CONECO’s office space. It depicts Prime Tower, which is the tallest building in the Zürich cityscape, and was designed by renowned Zürich-based architectural practice, GIGON/GUYER.

A critical feature of the overall design of the murals was the consideration of the return walls forming the office/study area enclaves. The mural illustrations were designed considering the three-dimensional aspect of the space, so that lines between the murals could interact.

About Lorenzo:

Lorenzo Nassimbeni is an architect working in the medium of wallcovering and fabric design, fine art and mural design. His work is inspired by the South African and international built environment, and is architectural in every aspect. Lorenzo is noted for the focus he places on the area where the disciplines of architecture and fine art meet. His design methodology is simple and essential in that he uses the medium of drawing with black ink on white paper as the basis for his products.
