Twee Jonge Gezellen is among the oldest farms in the Western Cape and is home to Krone MCC bubblies. The first Krone Borealis vintage (1987) was released in 1991 to much acclaim and a new generation of MCC’s was born. Interior decorator Tracy Lee Lynch, of Studio Leelynch, was involved in the farm’s renovation. Tracy wanted to return the buildings to their authentic state. The underground cellar remained untouched, but the tasting room got a facelift. Tracy collaborated with local designers, the likes of Gregor Jenkin, Charles Haupt, Meyer Von Wielligh, Ceramic Matters, Wiid Design, Mema Designs and Egg Designs. She also worked with curator Amy Ellenbogen to select works by artists represented by SMITH studio that tie the interior design story together. The result is the contrast between the traditional architecture and the modern movable design elements, and a space that – much like the Cap Classique the farm produces – marries a sense of tradition with innovation.
