Inspired by Mid-Century Modern furniture, the Ray & Vince armchairs launched at Cape Town-based design and interiors firm OKHA, earlier this year.
Making use of a minimalist approach, OKHA wanted to strip back the design to its linear essentials. Ray and Vince both feature mild steel frames, a Ferrograin powder coated finish and solid timber arms, as well as a dual density foam cushion and leather upholstery.
“The combination of the almost industrial mild steel frame and the natural warmth of the solid timber arm adds an extra dimension to the chairs’ nuanced character,” says the team at OKHA.
Timber options include walnut, ash and oak, while the leather upholstery is available in a selection of shades, from a neutral Latte and sophisticated Elephant grey to the moody Mocca and classic black.
Both Ray and Vince measure 670 mm (W) x 840 mm (D) x 700 mm (H), with Ray’s seat height slightly higher than Vince’s 420 mm, at 470 mm.
