WORDS Mary Garner
Los Angeles-based artist Scott Slagerman teamed up with artist Jim Fishman to create a series of beautiful vases made from glass and wood.
Scott completed the Glass Program at UCLA School of the Arts and went on to study glasswork at L’Ecole des Beaux Arts de Aix in Provence, France.
Inspired by the role that glass plays in architecture and everyday objects, he creates enchanting and esoteric pieces made up of colourful glass and chopped logs in a raw state.
The glass is blown into the shape of the wood, ensuring that the two materials are combined perfectly together.
