WORDS Chantel Hans
The newest addition to Buitengracht Street, The Fleet shop has popped up with a range of local designers represented under one roof just in time for the festive season. What’s not to love?
Started by Kirstin Weixelbaumer (Black Betty), Jade Hoets (Paper Tiger) and Marcus Viljoen (Got Processed) to give designers a head start this festive season, this innovative pop-up collective of local creatives will showcase their curated selection of artisan goods until the end of November.
Some of the Fleetsters, as their group of designers are fondly called, include the likes of Lauren Fowler, Black Betty, Got Processed, FEAT, Lalesso, Veld, The Canvas Garden, Ballo, Postcard Happiness, Stockton Goods, Paper Tiger, Bow Peep and Touchee Feelee.
So if you’re uncertain about what gifts to get this festive season, why not pop in at 142 Buitengracht Street and support some fantastic local talent. Also, if you are a designer trying to get your product out there and are interested in becoming a Fleetster, give them a shout at firstname.lastname@example.org.
